I really should just have an entire series of blog posts called “Hypocrisy is Hilarious”. Today’s is a doozy. Again, I’m sorry for being political. I want to be happy and lovely and talk to you about fitness and sticking to goals and the crazy stuff the Carter kids do… but today. Today I have to stick up for 3 of the 4 Carters living in our home. Because someone is speaking for them, and I’m not very happy about it.
Recently I received an email from a Political Action Committee. Instead of ignoring the message, like 99% of the time I would, this message was sent by the “American Firearms Review” and the “BAMPAC”. Wait. What? Ken Cuccinnelli needs my help, what could he want from me? Oh. Right. I hate pretty much everything this man stands for, politically, so let me investigate.
What is the BAMPAC? It is the Black Americans Political Action Committee. Huh. Well, they MUST speak for three of the four Carter’s I love, so let me read about who they are.
“BAMPAC candidates are committed to supporting our common sense approach to public policy and politics: promoting Social Security reform, improving public education, expanding economic opportunities to historically disadvantaged sectors in America, vigorously promoting equality for all Americans, protecting the sanctity of human life and restoring moral values and the importance of family in our communities.”
But, if you support historically disadvantaged sectors of America then you MUST support all human rights. Right? I mean if you want to expand economic opportunities for these people you MUST mean that you think that our gay brothers and sisters have a human right to marry one another and have the same tax, death and financial opportunities as our heterosexual married brothers and sisters.
If you support the sanctity of human life then you MUST not believe in allowing people to carry weapons. And assault rifles. And magazines with inordinate numbers of bullets. RIGHT? And you probably don’t believe in the death penalty. And you probably believe that homosexual couples should be allowed to raise a human. Because all of THAT? That’s protecting the sanctity of human life.
I don’t know a lot about taxes, or promoting Social Security reform, and I have very strong opinions on public education the biggest is, yes, it needs improvement. But I know that every life in this country is valuable. That every person in this country deserves to have a voice and to be supported. If we started treating our world, this Earth kinder and if we started treating each other with the kindness that Our Father taught us – to Love one another, to Love our neighbor as ourselves – well then politics wouldn’t be such a nasty word. If we could Love one another and listen with respect to one another then we could tackle the big issues of tax and social security reform.
So, let me be clear, BAMPAC, you do not speak for the Black Americans that live in my home (and FYI you don’t speak for the white American either). When you start to support and defend all Americans, well, then we can talk. When your PAC isn’t partnered with the American Firearms Review, who in my eyes, don’t support the sanctity of human life through their support of assault weapons and large magazines, come back and see me because I’d love to hear your candidate’s ideas on the economic reforms our country needs.
And when you realize that you aren’t exactly supporting “Black American Candidates” because, in case you didn’t know, Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli is white, well, then maybe we can talk.
God Bless America.
PS: Calling me a Patriot was a nice touch. I AM a Patriot. Thanks for noticing.

A to the Men.
That man scares the living daylights out of me.
He is exactly the sort of so-called ‘Christian’ that keeps me far away from organized religion. Wasn’t one of the basic teachings to do unto others as you would have them do unto you? Aren’t we not supposed to judge others? They talk about ‘free will’ but it seems to me that if you don’t choose their version of ‘free will’ then it’s wrong, as if someone died and put them in charge!
I am terrified of his style of leadership and I will do everything in my power to support Terry McAuliffe. This spam made damn sure of that.
